How should I target either of these fish? I'm new to both species

troll a crankbait with shad scent stick on it or use gulp bait. I catch a lot of drum fishing for crappie and stripers that way

For the drum use worms or crawfish in moving water around rocks.
For buffalo the easiest is probably going to be sweet corn or boiled corn fished over creep pellets or range cubes in slow water if fishing a creek or river. In a lake your going to want to look for shallow flats close to deep water, fish deeper in day and shallow at night.
