Going to Richland chambers for the first time this sat. Taking my girlfriend and her parents fishing. Would like to get on some hybrids, but will settle for some sandies.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Shawn.

Head out to the Main Lake area and join the Boat Show for Sandies. Has been AWESOME Top Water Schooling on Weekdays but less than a dozen boats on the Lake. The 4th of July Weekend and the additional traffic will probably have the Schoolies take off till the 8th.

Live Bait Guys and Trollers are catching Hybrids. Check out the Windsock Point on the far SE end of the Lake. Look for the Live Bait Boats anchored up.

Good Luck! For what it's worth, if I wasn't working, I'd sure not be on a Lake the 4th of July Weekend)

Thanks,

Thanks for the info. I'm going to be catching bait Friday night, but will also be dropping a few slabs. Will be fishing evening and into the early morning.

Last weekend sandies were stacked up on Ferguson Point, look for the Armada and jump in.

If you're coming from DFW, use Oak Cove off Hwy 287, and if you're coming from Houston, use Fisherman's Point Marina off FM 416. I think these are the only two ramps that are open.

Lake is 7' plus low and launching is becoming an experience.

Just be careful and if you're night fishing, stay in one spot. Lots of Main Lake Timber showing in 40' water and sandbars on the Flats.

Good Luck!

Thanks a ton! We will be coming out of Fort Worth. Thanks for the heads up on lake level. I don't need to be fixing the lower unit. Hopefully pics to come. Thanks again.

Fished last night and used Oak Grove off 287. If you have a big boat (mine is only 15’) you could drop off the ramp quickly. I had no issues but it is steep and you won’t back in far at all. Be very careful, the opening from the cove to the main lake is narrow. Trees on one side, sand bar on the other. Stay closer to the tree line and use your electronics. Fishing was good.

I have a 23' deep v cc. Don't really want to drive an hr to not be able to launch. Should I wait until lake level is back up?

I launched at Oak Cove today. I have a 22' Nitro center console. It wasn't bad at all. You should be fine. Fishing was good at times today. Ended up with a 2 person limit of white bass.
