my fuel gauge quit working a while back. most of the time it reads empty even when full(99% of the time). sometimes when i make a run it will show like half a tank then when i stop it will slowly drop back down to empty. any suggestions on where to start? The boat is a 2008 nitro 898.

i took the center seat off and there are wires and four bolts on the top of the tank. i didnt want to take those bolts off not knowing what was in the tank(want to be able to put back together). Should I pull these bolts out? i figure the sender would come out when i do this?

pull the bolts/screws out and pull the sender, academy sells one for about 15.00. you have to adjust the unit to install but it is easy to do, cut to length and mount the arm about center of it then fine tune it.
