Hey all. Just looking to see if Heiner Lake is any good for catfish. I have been to Clear Creek Lake and that sucks, haven't tried Engineer Lake. I was thinking of going out there this weekend with some punch bait and worms. I have heard it is pretty decent. How is it from the bank? Thanks everyone.

Hey Steve -- I think if you can make it by the sportsman's center on post, they have fishing reports there (at least, that's the word on the street...lol)

Yeah I ask those guys, but they are rarely helpful. They only come back with "Yep. They catchin fish out there." Nothing about bait type, what kind of fish, how deep were the fish, etc. Just trying to see if anyone was catching anything in Heiner, or any other Fort Hood lakes.

No not yet, now I am probably going to have to wait until I get back from Fort Jackson in August. I hope there are some reports on this thread when I get back. So far, all I can find is old reports saying punch bait is good to go on that lake.
