I had many on at Fork over the nearly 30+ years I fished it. From the time it started filling. Finally about 3 years ago I caught a 10.5. I have had bigger ones on. But, I was proud to accomplish it. Keep after it. And, fish lakes that have the potential for them.

And give up chasing women. That hurts your chances as well.

Settle down with a nice fat woman from Emory or Yantis that will cook and clean for you, and as a big fat woman, she won't have any other dating options when you're gone all the time fishing.

I'm now 67 years old and thanks to a good deal of time with Danny Golden this spring I finally at age 66 managed a 10# even. One more thing crossed off the bucket list. Keep pluggin' or wormin' or both. It'll come.

I didn't have one until this year, and I caught two of them in 9 days. It will happen.

I consider the 23 7/8" , fat like a foot ball that I caught about 8 years ago in Glade as my PB. Having handled many overs on the live release boat for the last 11 years it was probably an 11 1/2 (dreamer) but no scale in the boat and to short to bring in.

I have caught 3 upper 9's in three different states. And on this past Thursday I had a monster on that straigtened the front hooks on my Sammy.

Had another sure over on a yellow magic and the net man knocked it off. Broke off a really big one about 7 years ago at Lake Quitman.

Oh yeah and bedfishing the 17 lber (the guide said) on a shiner at Rodman in Florida about 13 years ago broke 25 lb test. The female I caught was over 8.

Fork is great because you have so many opportunties to get that 10 plus. All you need is a little luck at that very moment.

Something that I don't seem to have most of the time. I like catching 7 & 8"s. But that real honest to goodness weighed on a certifide scale 10 has eluded me forever it seems. And like propman says "I ain't getting any younger" there junior.

Someone can fish once and catch a 15 and people can fish there life and never catch a 10. Its just part of the game we play.

If you want do some research and put yourself in the best places at the best times.

Just a hunch, but there are a few guys on just a few lakes that catch several double digits each year... a trip with them might get your odds to go WAYYY up.

Barrett, I fished for over 30 years before I got my first DD. You aren't even 30 yrs old, so don't rush it. It will happen when you stop putting emphasis on it. A 10lber is hard to get. A lot more fisher people don't have one as compared to those who do......

Good 10lber fishin,
Okie

Listen to Tom. There are lots of guys on here that brag about all the DD's they've caught that have never even seen a DD other than in the tank at Bass Pro.

Keep on plugging. It'll happen.
