What's the largest freshwater fish you have landed on a fly?

42" long don't remember the weight....22lbs I think. I had some larger carp on but was unsuccessful at landing them....

Well if you count a spun deerhair pellet fly, then a 35# bluecat. That was around 20yrs ago with nothing even close to that since. Those things were surprisingly picky, you had to present the thing just right or they'd all bolt. But the fight was less than I expected on a 7wt.
I've also hooked a pretty decent common, maybe around 20#, but not landed. I think my biggest landed carp was somewhere 12-15# and was way more fun than that catfish.

30 lb grass carp on a "lettuce fly" and a 9 wt from the lake behind my house when I lived outside Chicago.

Mine was a 4 pound LMB out of a neighborhood pond in Katy. Nice little fight on a 5wt.

I think 20 lb buffalo, caught two of those. A couple of longnose gar I have caught may have been over 20 but I didn't weigh them.

Testing a new 4 weight kit rod I had just built I hung into a 28+ inch long buffalo. I did manage to get it to shore but had no way of weighing it. The middle of that buff was bigger then my thigh. The rod worked great and held together well.

12... inch bass. Haha, I'm trying! I have a 3 weight now so hopefully my pb on the fly can increase a few pounds.

57" alligator gar that was I believe featured for a while on the entry page to this site. Not sure how much he weighed, but a great fight.

i dont fly fish much, but my biggest is probably a 1 pound largemouth from the colorado river. i hooked into a carp but he bent and spit the hook.

Flat heads and channel cats on the Brazos seem to really like white clousers. Have seen lots of big ones caught around dawn and dusk. Never weighed them though.
