Howdy, folks. Headed to Surfside for the first time July 3rd - 7th. Hoping to spend the entire time in the surf catching reds and specks. I would like to ask about the best places to throw a castnet for finger mullet or mud minnows. I will try in the surf, but I'm better with my net if I'm standing higher than the water (a bridge or pier). Any other advice you be appreciated. I saw the info everyone offered to TexasKevin about Surfside Beach surf fishing; I figured this was the place to ask about the castnet.

Thanks! I'll post a report afterward if I have anything worth sharing.

Most of the ditches on the bay side hold bait. Around the boat ramps also.

Well sometimes it is just luck that either brings in a lot of catch or sometimes it gets us nothing.

This, there is a good spot heading towards the icw bridge on the left when you go over the levee.

RT, I'll be out on the beach Thursday 'til Sat PM, 1st cast will be the net! Hope it works as well as the video. Hope to see them little mullets before my net hits the water. Some fancy sun glasses for sure will help out well.
