I know this is the TEXASfishingforum, but I'm going to Cheyenne, WY at the end of July and was wondering if anyone on here know of any good fishing spots around Cheyenne.

Granite springs reservoir right after it thaws out around April can be awesome. Trolling various small lures along the shoreline will produce some big rainbows. That's when there spawning. As for summer fishing, I have no clue.

Grayrocks has small mouth and huge crappie in it, along with walleye of course. If you go south to Ft Collins, you can fish Lonehagler, Boyd res, or Lonetree. Lonetree and Lonehagler are no-wake lakes, but you can use your big motor to get around and to load on the trailer.. They have awesome LMB fishing. I spent 8 years stationed at F.E Warren and fished with the Centennial Bass Club out of Ft Collins. Good luck and say hi to good ole' Cheyenne for me.

X2

I would head south to Ft. Collins and fish Boyd and Horsetooth. Horsetooth is a decent walleye and smallmouth lake, and it has enough coves to get away from the party boats.

Fishing was invented so man wouldn't get bored between turkey and dove.

Grayrocks is awesome for walleye and not too far. Also, if you go east on I80 out of Cheyenne, you are only a couple of hours from Lake McConaughy in Nebraska. It is a great walleye lake and it offers fishing for white bass, stripers, catfish, and also small mouth bass. Lake McConaughy is almost 56 square miles so there is a lot of water to fish. Best of luck, and enjoy your stay!
