Game wardens are cracking down on the boat LEDs they don't even want them on when parked. Leaving eagle mountain and we got a warning ticket. He said you can have them on at your dock and no where else especially running.

What law did they say you broke? I didn't know there was any law against any type of light other than red and blue flashing lights

They said that its becoming a problem since your navigation lights are red, white, and green. They can't tell if a boat is coming or going. Coast guard said they need to enforce it all the time now. These were straight from the game wardens mouth. Just giving a friendly heads up.

I think I would contest that.

I've never heard of this. We run them all of the time on TN water as long as it isn't a strobe or flashing blue/red. It sounds a little more like policing for profits.

So the problem was the color you chose not the LEDs then?

So blue would be no issue?

Sounds bogas anyways but I can kinda see where they are soling from If the issue is with red/green/white LEDs only.

Kinda reminds me ofthe [censored] we used to catch from cops in the 90's with neons

Not sure if it was you or not but last night on em I saw some one with blue lights and yes it took a couple looks to figure out which deriction they were headed Once I figured it out was not a bother figured it was some young wake boarders. Showing off. Didnt think it was a fisherman.

Wow that's strange as I was eating lunch at Tiffany's here at Lake Fork and there were 3 game wardens there as well. I went to their table and asked about using led's for navigation lights and if they were legal. Their response was as long as they could see red or green then they were good with it and that they even liked them better as they were brighter and easier to see. I don't know what the coast guard ruling is but it is just what was told to me by 3 wardens here on Fork.

I would not upset a cop with a ticket book, but in this case I would make him get a supervisor down there and ask exactly which law I was breaking. There is not a single sentence in the book that forbids any extra light on any boat! Those big tour boats would be breaking every one of them.
