I'm gett'n pretty elderly so I make a lot of mistakes. But this once I've gotten lucky. 14 months ago I bought a motorcycle and that's all I wanted to do so I put my boat on a consignment lot in Dallas and considered fishing a thing of my past. Now, 14 months later I've realized that I miss fishing. I've taken my boat off the market and I'm back to rigg'n tackle while planning the next fishing trip. It was a nice break but I'm back and excited.

We Seniors need to keep busy. Glad to see you're going to be wetting a line again. Fishing is keeping me young.

I thing there should be a Form Listing for Seniors knowledge and Techniques. This would give us and everyday shot at posting experiences we remember and some we forgot.

Welcome back Perry. Been missing you out at Stamford and Miller Creek! Sure wish both would catch water, its getting dangerous. Good fish coming out of both though.

There's a saying that everyday you fish adds an extra day to the end of your life. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Good luck .

You can do both.

Good for YOU!!!
Understand, am now, at that age myself - retired 66.
Have just taken up (after a 30 year lull) fishing...and it is fun...something we CAN do...easy challenge that doesn't require a lot of physical strength.
We just move a lil' slower ..
Have a ball my friend..

Yep, this aging process is going to be a continuous challenge for the rest of the journey. I'm all too aware there are friends who could still be fishing with me but they're gone for one reason or another. It's not a matter of age anymore, it's all about your health. And you have to make adjustments, if you can...like learning to cast differently (pitching is a body saver) or I'm going to wrap my wrist with 3M Coban...my rod never leaves my left hand.

But I believe this...Stay Active or you'll lose the ability to do anything active.

Uncle Homer said fishing adds years to your life and life to your years. I'm 66 and still loving it. Sadly, I lost my fishing buddy (Ole Eddie, age 75)last week and I'll miss him.

In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.
