This forum has gone down hill for sure. Used to be the best forum on the TFF. I used to check it 5 times a day, now just every few days. Some of these posts just make me feel even dumber than I already am trying to read them. I look now to see who made the post and if its the wrong couple of guys I never open them anymore. It makes me feel like a 5yr old dyslexic trying to read their posts.

I too have seen a decline in the useful posts on this forum. I am relatively new to posting but was a "lurker" for years before that. I find some posts hard to read and without real import but I simply don't read those posters much anymore.

I can still glean lots of helpful info from the forum, I just have to screen it more. I am entertained by reading about trips and the analysis of what worked or didn't work. I don't need this forum for the side stories, the inside jokes, or the criptic posts. But hey...if that is what you are interested in then go for it. I can recognize those and skip them when I read.

The forum doesn't have to comply with my requirements or yours. It can reflect several different points of view and I will be just fine with that. At my age, I can let the other guys opinion roll off me without a single thought.

Tight lines to all.

This thread sucks. LOL!

Just kidding. I think this is the way most of us think now about the forum. I still go on every day for reasons like T. Dub said above but mostly it's just dumb posts now. Guys that I met though the years no longer post here or even check out the forum because of the lack of quality reports/reads. Also everyone likes to post "Lake X" stuff. I know where it is but most don't. You don't have to give depth or location on the lake but most of the times people just want to know the lake you're fishing.

Regarding the inside jokes, that's what happens when you are best friends with guys on this forum and have been on here for 5+ years. Take it with a grain of salt.

Well my first post on here was 5/31/08. I'm also one of the youngest posters here besides Anthony (haven't seen him post in a while?).I was a rookie then and still consider myself a rookie and came here to learn. This forum was such a treasure for me. It was a direct connection to professional fishermen/guides that were willing to share their knowledge of the sport. I remember combing through tons of Ernest Paty's threads to try to suck in as much knowledge as possible. Lots of guys on here have pm'ed me to help me with techniques and tricks, and I've fished with a few too! I enjoy reading all the posts here, but I think we're just coming up short on informational posts to go along with our pictures. I'm guilty of this for sure. I hereby pledge to give water temp, fish depth, water depth and bait on all my catch posts from now on!

If you would write your stories like this instead of acting like some redneck hillbilly I might go back to reading them.

Hey, you quit starting trouble and mind your business. The only thing you need to worry about is me catching you on "tree X" tomorrow.

Let me get this straight Cephusjoe. You don't want to meet up with a stranger in a secluded, probably dark boat ramp parking lot that has a fake name that you met online. You're probably missing an opportunity to meet Chris Hansen from NBC, and to be on tv. I think the story sounds plausible enough. Who wouldn't believe you? (just kidding piscatur. I don't really think you would bring Chris Hansen with you.).

I belong to one particular motorcycle forum and have met people from all over the world because of that forum. I will admit, a few I wouldn't meet again and wish I hadn't every met them , but I have also made some life long friends off that forum.
I have also met a few folks off this forum and have yet to meet one I didn't like from TFF. I have also talked to many through pm's that I would consider friends now.
