This may not be the appropriate area to post but you are the folks he would want to know. Roger Black (sloedown) met his Lord and Maker today. Roger was a great guy, a real MAN and my friend. I met him on the Jig tying forum. He invited me to his house and spent countless hours working to teach me the skill. He was a master and would be pissed if I would have ever called him that. He had the patience, compassion, concern and conviction of a crappie fisherman and wanted to share his experience and knowledge freely with others. He was a dang good fisherman and I will miss him very much. We talked, made plans,fished, told stories and and bullsh@#ed each other daily. There was a time this forum was his only connection to the outside world due to his illness. Thank you all for being there for him and putting some meaning into his life. He had some real friends on this forum and you know who you are. Please say a little prayer for his family. I'm gonna miss my Buddy!!!!!!!
A good day fishing is not losing a jig, a bad day fishing is not losing a minnow!

This is sad to me. Roger was a good friend to me thru the Forum. I never met him here but I will someday. Good fishing my friend. Prayers and condolences to his family and friends.

Thanks for sharing NO NET NEEDED.
I also knew Roger personally as He was one of my students.. We spent countless hours at my home in Lancaster teaching him the art... He was a very patient student and fast learner..
My Prayers and thoughts are with his family..
