Small mouth can't wait to whackem on lake Erie at the end of July hopefully we can get some walleye for the grill while we are at it

Smallmouth fight a lot harder and wont just lay on the surface at the end like largemouth. They are both really fun to catch. I lose ALLOT more smallmouth than Largemouth. Once you learn a few tricks to avoid the jumps largemouth don't seem to have too much more up their sleeve. I've lost smallmouth after getting them in the boat. They never quit.

funny you say that! I had one in the boat at texas team trail on Belton. Flipped him in the boat jig fell out of its mouth then I swear it looked at me smiled and jumped out the back.

Love the smallies, like to fish deep for the big ones.

Caught my first smallmouth a few weeks ago at Canyon Lake .. He was about 1.5 pounds and a heck of a fighter.. He hit a crankbait off a main rocky point in 3 feet of water.. It was a blast.. We also caught Largemouth, white bass, and catfish on the same crankbait..

No way a Smallmouth fights harder than a Falcon bass.

if you have ever had a 6# smallie go airborne on ya you would say smallies.
love catchin either but pound for pound the small mouth is a much harder fighter.
I have had a few big lmb go airborne but not anything like a good smallmouth, lots of fun to catch.

I've never caught smallmouth but someday soon I'm going to make a trip just for that purpose, I hear they are a blast.

I'd rather catch a 4lb smallmouth over a 7lb largemouth ANY day!!

Looks like most folks prefer targeting the smallies over the LgMouth.
