Sand dunes of the coast and/or the woods of the Sam Houston National Forest

San Luis Pass area on Galveston. I was there all last week and there are plenty of rattlers all over the brush areas at the edge of the sand. In fact, about 2-3:00PM you will find a great many of them laying under those cool little walking bridges they have laid out for the beach goers.

I had no idea there would be rattlers that close to the coast. They are everywhere...

Nooooooo.... (as the big one gets away again)

aint nothing wrong with them ole button rattlers
They dont want anything to do with you so if you leave them alone
chances are real good you'll both survive any harm.

Just leav'em be and theyll be about their business,it takes a real man not to pester a defenseless creature.

And Feral pigs that'll eat your guts.

Yep, years ago me and my 2 older brothers were in the Galveston marsh scouting a couple months before duck season, and out of the grass came a HUGE rattler. Needless to say we didn't bother hunting the Galveston area and went back to the Trinity area..
