Have a boat. Don't have a fish finder.
If I were to go hybrid hunting 1) What time of day would be best 2) What area would you go to if you were to make a high percentage good guess of where the hybrids or big sandbass would be not having a fish finder 3) What do you prefer to use.. Slabs, mepps, or live shad
I know I'm blind without a fish finder but I still want to fish until I can afford one.

Go out in front of the robertsons park boat marina in the shallow flats. There will usually be a lot of boats there early in the morning to noon. That would be the easiest place to get some.

Hire a guide first and let them educate you, then you'll know.
I do enjoy a good Squirt now and then.

LOL. I think I'd save the money I was going to spend on a guide and spend it on a graph. Just do us all a favor and when you see us, don't use your big motor within a hundred yards or so if you see people catching fish. Otherwise, get out there and have fun learning!! Good luck!

Sweet offer ss, with out knowing the depth your fishing is all you can do is drift points, just find main like point and drift until you find fish.
But trying to tell a spot for hybrid is not easy if you don't have the tools. That's why some people have stuck to fishing bass, hybrids are tough to learn the deep water habits, but when you do its just like clock work
