Anyone know if there are any open boat ramps on Lake Corpus Christi. I've heard the water level is really low. I have a small 14ft flat bottom boat. It's too heavy to carry, but if the back just touches the water I can push it in. Thanks

No ramps open. I have been calling the State park there and she says that its still no where near the bottom of the ramp. Last time I was out there a couple months ago the water was around 150 yards from the bottom of the Sunrise beach boat ramp. From what I hear Indian Hills has a boat ramp open but it is a private neighborhood and they will not allow anyone who isn't a resident to launch there.
I hear the fishing is really good right now from the bank. Maybe if you could rig up a cart or something you might be able to get in the water.

Thanks for the info. That's exactly what I heard when I called, but she wasn't too sure. I guess I'll be bank fishing unless it fills up in the next month

I'm not sure but try fiesta marina on the west side of the lake. They have one of the deepest ramps on the lake.

.
I called Weber's landing today. The lady there told me that they had the deepest ramp on the lake and the lake needs 3 more feet of water before you can launch there. If there is any place to launch on LCC right now it is going to be an improvised situation.

I don't know why they all don't extend their ramps when the lake is mega low like it is now. The only thing I can think is that the drought hurts them finacially to the point that improvements are out of the question.
This drought in particular is one like the residents of Lake Corpus Christi have never seen in the lakes history. I heard about people driving trucks where there is normally people water skiing 12 feet above. In some cases on lake front property you can no longer even see the lake since the entire cove is dried up. It's sad. The effect it has had on the fish population is still yet to be seen. Once the lake comes back up there is going to be so much flooded vegetation that I am afraid that its decaying may cause oxygen to be depleted from the lake. I don't know if that's the case. Hope not.

We had a lakehouse out there growing up. Back then the bass fishing was awesome year round. Since they starting letting water out for the shrimp in the back bay the lake has never been the same. I havnt been to our lakehouse in almost 7 years because the lake levels have been to low. Its a shame they cannot find a way to keep the levels somewhat consistent. You cannot plan against mother nature and the drought but even when we are in a drought water is being let out for the shrimp in the bays.

When i was a kid i remember the catfishing at Lake Corpus Christi was very good, and the lake seemed like it was full all the times we went. Well it looks like there is alot of water coming down the Nueces River that will help out that Lake alot.

Well it looks like there is alot of water coming down the Nueces River that will help out that Lake alot. I just heard the same thing. I heard of a part of the Nueces that went from 30 yards wide to 150 yards wide overnight. I wonder if it helped the lake?

Lake Corpus Christi is a slow rise right now, but the main part of the rise on the Nueces River is between Cotulla and Tilden. So it is at least a week away from the Lake. The big question is how much will Lake Corpus Christi come up ?

The City of Corpus Christi has miss managed the water from both those lakes (Mathis and Choke) it is unbelievable. Granted we are in a drought and have been for some time, but they just started mandatory water restrictions!!! This is an absolute joke! They should have been restricting the water usage last year this time. The City of cc sells water to everyone plus they have their own Bottle water company. They don't really want to restrict usage because it cost them revenue. I live in a sleepy little town of Sinton and we are the only town in our area that still has its own water wells. All the other towns around get thier water from these lakes or the MR pipeline out of lake Texanna. Even the folks that live in the country on this Rincon Water dist. gets it water from these lakes or that pipeline. Now all of this started in the late 80s and has just grown ever since. Kingsville, Alice, all the little towns between!!! Just how many hogs can drink from the bucket before the bucket goes dry???????
