Well after catching a zillion sandbass early this week before the big moon ruined everything, I decided to go out in the big lake and see if the stripers would play this afternoon. Caught this fine fellow and had another pretty much like him break off at the boat. Sandbass are fun ( so says the guide ads) but they don't snap 15 lb test line like stripers do.

PK is becoming a very healthy lake. Lots of fry in the shallows at the cliffs marina.

PK the guide ads are true. Catching Sand Bass is fun! Catching Stripers is more fun. Being a guide on PK is not so easy. I would like to buy a new boat, build a kick arse boat slip with fish cleaning table etc but....what if we have a fish kill next year? Hard to bet the farm on PK's striper poulation and future.

Remember that most people who fish with guides would never get to fish at all if it were not for guides.They don't get to fish once a week like we do. Take some one fishing who does not get to go much. Watch there face, smile,eyes and reactions. You will understand especialy if its a child.Catching any thing is fun.
