I keep hearing guys say their Power Pole or Poles are draining their batteries. Someone please explain, talked to the dealer that installed mine, he said that the power pole shouldn't be drawing from your batteries until the switch is activated. I haven't had a problem yet but just wondering.

If the green lights are on its draining .Hook it through your breaker and that will not happen if you turn it off. You may keep your boat plugged in.

It's the Power Pole Blades that draw from the cranking battery. Previous models (at least the the ones I've had) were not wired that way. I recently had a toggle switch installed so I could cut the power to the blades.

I'm glad others have this same problem. I have the powerpole pro series II and they will drain my battery within a week or so maybe two weeks. I've taken the fusee out of the poles to see if that was the problem and the battery will stay charged for a long period of time. Batteries, boat, and poles are are 2013 and came installed from the factory. Going to put a power switch on them ASAP. Not sure what draws so much power with them. They do have the blinking green lights but that can't draw much. No knock on the powerpoles here though. They are amazing and have helped me tremendously.

Well there you have it. Seems as though it's not just the Blades after all. Mine are 2012's. My 2010 Pro Series were not like that so I guess this is a new "feature."

I have got a new Power Pole to which I love, but it will drain my battery also. I have got to rewire it throught a switch to kill it during storage.

Install a simple on/ off switch on the power wire. . Turn it on when you get to the lake, off when you leave. Problem solved. Mine are in my battery compartment, out of the way .

the power switch is not just for draining battery. keep it off while in tow also. if the remote is in your pocket you can deploy the poles while driving down the highway and not even know it.

The drain problem is with all Poles that have C-Monster on them. It isnt the light that drains the battery but the C-monster software looking for a blue tooth signal that drains the battery. Adding a switch or a breaker is a good idea because you can disable the punps while traveling. There is also a APP for andriod phones where you can update the pumps software to fix the battery draining issue. We have started doing this on every pole we install.
