Me and the family will be heading to Destin, Florida next month. What are some names of some good restaurants we should hit while we are there? Also, are there some 'must do's' while we are there?

Thanks

Jeff

Dewey Destin's out by Crab Island (not the one in the harbor)has outstanding fried seafood and some of the best boiled shrimp I've had - order the Royal Reds.

Old Bay Steamer - Hard to find better steamed seafood. Can get a little pricey but it's worth it.

Louisiana Lagniappe - Good Cajun style seafood.

If you get tired of seafood McGuire's Irish Pub just over the Destin bridge has excellent food and drinks - Reasonable prices and huge portions as well. The kids got a kick out of the over $1 million dollar bills on the wall and ceilings. Kid friendly till about 9pm then the partiers hit.

There is also a Mellow Mushroom Pizza in Destin if the kids get pizza crazy like ours always do.

Do any of you have a fishing charter you can recommend?

Fished a charter boat six years ago & had a great time. Captain & crew were very knowledgeable & helpful.

I would highly recommend them.

Pat Dineen! I'm Tarpon fishing with him July 16-18th. Awesome guide, fishes from a 23' cc with small groups only. Reasonable rates, he even does the local news fishing report. 850-376-0400 or flyliner.com

We saw fishing pics on the news from our trip with him when we got back to the condo, pretty cool!

Dewey Destin seafood on the water as mentioned above is a must. Show up early there and McGuires or you will have a long wait even mid week nights.

There's a great beach on the other side of the bridge. Between ft Walton and Destin. You will see some parking areas and it is a little hike over the dunes, but most weekdays you can get on a prettier beach with nobody a
Within a hundred yards of you and really relax. It's worth dragging coolers and chairs a hundred yards through the sand, trust me, I'm fat and out of shape but still do it rolfmao

Call me if you will be there the week of the 15th and we can chatter a 6pack boat or something. Matt
