Is it possible that the common denominator in lack luster fishing results resulted in the " Super Moon Phase"

http://earthsky.org/tonight/is-biggest-and-closest-full-moon-on-june-23-2013-a-supermoon

Crappie may be feeding with reckless abandon with a back drop like this and simply be "stuffed" during the day. This is my story and I'm stik'in two it. Russell

Talked to my little brother who lives down in the Rio Grande Valley. He went salt water fishing this morning expecting similar (great) results as last week. Fish were not co-operating. He mentioned the moon as well. That's as plausible an excuse as any and I'll accept it. At least until I can figure out how to get a bite or where them biting rascals went.

Supermoon meant super fishing for us at Lake Fork today. My girls and I, along with my father n law, nailed Crappie. In just 3.5 hours this morning, we caught over 25, with 21 keepers. Used jigs (blue/black combo) and minnows. Also caught a four nice size catfish, and a bunch of yellow bass (which we threw back).

Crappie are in the old tree thickets (along, or near brushpiles) at 18-22 feet, right on the bottom. 25 feet is too deep. 15 feet is too shallow. We zeroed in on them Saturday, and managed to catch 12 keepers in about 2 hours too. We also caught 2 slot bass too - 1 on jig. 1 on minnow.

Personally, I liked the 'Supermoon'.

I think you need to keep moving and find the active fish. There
may be fish that stuffed themselves at 8pm and are hungry in the morning.

Don't tell them you were using minnows, some folks kind of don't like it! Thanks for the information. I kind of suspected that I was too shallow on my last outing and didn't try the deeper structure.

It's easier for me to blame it on the moon than to blame myself for not knowing where to fish!
