hybrid... when in doubt look for tooth patches... no tp, yellow bass one tp, white bass two tp, striper two tp or one tp with fork at either end, hybrid (if it has broken lines)
If it is a white X yellow bass it should have yellowish color on its belly and one tooth patch or no tooth patch.
Good thing you threw it back, it is not worth the risk.
The pursuit (where are the fish), rigs design and setup, scouting, the awesome feeling of casting your rigs 100+ yards out, the total focus on the fish and the elements, the outdoors... the total exhaustion at the end of your fishing day,... the cooler full of fish to bring home... Yeah, I'm going to miss bank fishing!

Can yellow bass accidentally be mixed with stripers in the " hybrid" pool attempt ?

I have seen that before and I think it's a F2. In genetic crossbreeding a F2 is a second generation cross. It is between a half bread and a full bread of one of the parents in this case. It is a known fact that a small prcentage of hybrid striped bass are fertil. If one of these fertil hybrid striped bass and a sand bass happened to reproduce this fish in question could likely be the result. I think it's just a matter of time before we have a new fish roaming our lakes. A "super sandy" I call it. If the F2's can reproduce, and they should be capable. It will happen. On the legal aspect. IT IS A HYBRID! Although a F2 or second generation cross its still a cross a "hybrid" of two different fish. That makes it 3/4 sand bass 1/4 striped bass.
Take a fish boating today!

IT IS A HYBRID! Although a F2 or second generation cross its still a cross a "hybrid" of two different fish. That makes it 3/4 sand bass 1/4 striped bass. The F2 theory is more plausible than a F1 yellow x white bass theory, because the lower two lines of this fish are not broken and very distinctive, while top two lines are broken. In yellow bass, lower two lines are distinctively shown and broken above or right after its anal, wherein white bass lower two lines are very faint... However the lines of this fish are too distinctive for a F2 white x hybrid, IMHO. a F2 hybrid x striper is theoretically plausible (stripers eat yellow bass, hence its very unlikely for yb to hang around for the party anyway, lol), but since RC was never stocked with stripers, this is not possible. Since, I couldn't see the yellowish color from the fish belly and the bottom two lines are not broken...I'd say it's a sunshine or palmetto hybrids (white x striped bass), if so this fish should have two tooth patches.
The pursuit (where are the fish), rigs design and setup, scouting, the awesome feeling of casting your rigs 100+ yards out, the total focus on the fish and the elements, the outdoors... the total exhaustion at the end of your fishing day,... the cooler full of fish to bring home...
