Was just wondering if anyone has fished this area at all recently. I have a kayak I could put in there on the highway was thinking of going downstream and running a few limb lines with some live bait. Maybe finding a deep hole to throw some lines in.

Good luck! I drove through Anson on the way to Hubbard creek every time we go! Looks like a fishy area.

Gotta get pretty far down there for the fish. It gets fished alot under the bridge. I just hate leaving my vehicle alone there..

I used to fish that exact area with my grandfather 30+ years ago. Old beat up Jon boat, beat up trolling motor and red horse miners we trapped at the Anson golf course. Good times.

To answer your question, I don't have a clue.

I recon I never thought bout that may have to take a day trip and let the wife drive me/pick me up in the afternoon. I can paddle down from the bridge in my yak though don't think that will be a prob. I don't have a great fishing rig just a ocean kayak 11. I will probably buy a after market seat befor I give it a go would be a long day in it as it Is now:(

Used to do a lot of limb lining on the clear fork west of anson
Perch will get you some nice flatties
In late summer, we used fly rods and grasshoppers... Hand to hand combat... Son and i made a few fishing memories

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

thx for the responces guys I haven't been out that way in over 10 years I know it looks like a good place to find some big flattys though for sure. Does anyone know weather or not there is any alligator gar out there? or just the same spotted/long nose that are mostly out here in west texas
