I put a plastic craw or another trailer on it and work it like you would a worm, slow with small pops or twitches. Could be the wrong way but it has produced for me in the past.

Nice man! I've never had luck with football jigs. Do you put a plastic on them or just tie 'em on? I've always added a trailer. I'm sure you might catch fish at some point without a trailer, but I would think it would be like offering someone a dry baked potato vs one loaded with butter, cheese, bacon, chives. You might pass on the dry one a lot, but the one with the fixings? A lot less, right? Here's some jigs with trailers. A regular to small 3/8 with a smallish trailer and a 'so-big it's-kind-of-a-joke' shibui jig with a lobster trailer... True story: I've thrown the big one a few times and the only fish I've caught on it were smaller than 14 inches! They weren't even keepers!
