As of today, I have rented two cabins on the water. I know one (Sleeps 5) is available to share costs. It is right across from ramp and next to mine. If interested, PM me. Rented for both Friday and Saturday nights. There were plenty of RV and Tent site available.

Based on previous outing in June, I have decided to have our annual bass tournament and fish fry on June 22nd. I know I cannot please all schedules, but I have to pick a date. I know F.A.N. bass tournament is the same day. I wish all those fishing, good luck and catch a big one!

LOCATION: South Shore Park on Lake Bastrop.

For those that want to attend, rules and overview of get-together will follow soon.

Basically, its a two event time. From 6am to noon, there will be a bass tournament open to PUBLIC. It will be relaxed on rules a little, allowing more than 2 people per boat and trolling allowed. No live bait. Again, rules will come soon.

After tournament, we will fillet all undersized slot fish between 10" and 13.99". These will be fried up at our annual fish fry starting around 1pm. Again, I will details to follow. This is open to family and friends.

Any comments or concerns, should be addressed to me either on PM or text/calling (512) 423-4378.

Normally topwater fishing for schooling bass is a blast this time of year. You do not have to attend tournament to eat fresh fish, and same goes ith if you want to fish tournament, but not want to be apart of the fish fry..
Robert

PS: This tournament is NOTHING compared to TTZ professional crew for Andy and Booker.. However, this event has been going on for over 5 years and still a lot of fun!

Bastrop Fish Fry & Tournament Sign Up - Response REQUIRED
Decided to start a new post so we can get a clean and accurate count of who is attending the Tournament, fish fry, both, etc.

Please reply by copying the bold questions area of this post and using it for your reply!

This will allow us to know exactly how many folks attending and who is bringing what. Everybody is welcome.

Also, if your information changes, please remember to modify your post.

If more than one person in your party posts duplicate information, don't worry, we are tracking it in a spreadsheet so they won't be counted double.

Rules for Tournament:

This a OPEN tournament for everyone..Husband/Wife/Boyfriends/Girlfriends,kids,families, etc...

Tournament Rules
South Shore- Lake Bastrop
Fishing Hours: 6:15am - 12:00pm
Sign in starts at 5:15AM - 6:15AM
Tournament entry - $40.00
1-5 boats pay 1 place 100% of pot
6-14 boats pay 2 places 60%, 40% of pot
15+ boats pay 3 places 50%, 30%, 20% of pot

All ties will be resolved by splitting that place and the next places money.

The normal tournament rules apply. *The main ones are:
1) Fish to be weighed in can only be 11-13.95 inches if it hits the 14 inch line it will not be weighed. *You can keep one bass over 21 inches. *ICE dead fish weighed even though most will be dead in the fryer later . *
2) You will be disqualified if you come after 12pm, your boat must be in the no wake bouys and stopped fishing by 12:00PM.
3) All Sportman like conduct applies
4) The tournament director hast he right to disqualify anyone for misconduct.
5) All TPWD regulations have to be followed
6) Like last year, I am allowing trolling with big engine. This tournament is about taking out the smaller bass.
7) I am allowing fish to be kept on ice, but not iced fish. This does not apply to fish over 21". They must be alive and well. No dead 21" or larger fish will be weighed!
8) I am allowing no more than what the coast guard max amount of people in you boat. So, if you have a 15 foot boat that max at 3 people, no more than three in your boat. This is not a law I created, this is a coast guard and TPWD law. Must have all the right equipment (PFD) etc to meet TPWD law.

Any comments, questions, likes or dislikes will be discussed before tournament. I will update this list if necessary.

Robert

I will be at Lake Bastrop South Shore Park, at 5:15 to 6:15am collecting $40 per boat or kayak, for tournament entry, on Saturday, June 22nd. This is an open tournament with the purpose to have fun catching schoooling bass.

Weigh your best 5 bass, either 5 under 14" or 4 under 14" and 1 over 21". We are keeping all unders for fish fry which follows the tournament. If there are two fishermen, then you can keep 10 unders or 9 unders if you have one over the slot.

Please call or text me at 512-423-4378 if you have any questions. This event have been going on for the last 5 years! Help with conservation of unders!
