Has anyone else noticed the small worms that the striper are eating out in the deep water down south.

Are they eating them or are they parasites?

That's the larvae stage of the critters that swarm you on a hot summer night after bumping a stump on Fork or Cooper!

Don't bite, but love to fly in your nose and ears.

Lots of info on them on YouTube.

They eat everything! Back east, when the cinder worms hatch you'll have huge bass eating what amounts to mosquito larvae almost. The worst part is that if you find them eating the cinder worms you may as well go home because once they're keyed in on them they simply won't touch anything else. I've found mantis shrimp, lobsters, crabs, eels, blue fish, you name it, in their stomach.
