So I've been doing a lot of pond fishing in local ponds around north Texas. I fish for pretty much anything that will bite a hook and vary in fishing styles depending on what I'm going after that day. Such as bobber fishing with a minnow for crappie. Bottom fishing night crawlers for catfish and lures for bass. What I'm wanting to know is in your honest opinion what is your go to lure when fishing ponds. For those days I want to tie on one lure and walk the banks and still catch fish? What have y'all had the best luck using and in what colors. Thanks for reading and thanks for your answers in advance.

texas rig a zoom baby brush hog in green pumpkin, or the rage craw with coffee scent. There is no wrong way to work those baits. I've even caught fish with the rage craw reeling it really fast across the top of the water and letting the flaps hit like a buzz bait.

H&H spinnerbait. The old ones, with one hook.

(really any 1/8 oz spinnerbait in white)

Cut with her golden oars the silver stream,
And greedily devour the treacherous bait.

Pond fishing is just not as good and don't have any right to compare with fishing. There's a lot difference between them. Never mind, this was my personnel opinion.

Lil smokies. Buddy of mine just showed me a pic. of 10 lbs. bass he caught using these. Said he caught a bunch of other really nice ones. He would just cast it out and let it sit on the bottom. Did'nt believe him till I saw the pics.

So lilly. I'm new here but not new to fishing. Pond fishing shouldn't compare with real fishing huh? Tell me how that makes any sense at all. Fishing is fishing. Its better some places than others and though ponds may be more difficult to fish for bass out of especially community ponds due to over fishing it only makes it more of a challenge. I don't own a boat nor do I have access to one so I do what I can I fish almost daily and have better luck walking the banks of a local pond than I do finding somewhere on a lake I can access and have any luck at all. I do just fine on ponds. Just got a 6.5 bass in a community pond in Denton. I have several other nice catches and days I've even caught my limit of channel cat. I love to fish no matter where it is. I'd fish in the bath tub if I thought thered would be fish.
