Heard a Cicada "screaming" as it fell to the ground this morning. I look over and see that a Cicada Killer Wasp has it. The wasp drug it over to a rock column and then crawled all the way up with it.

Those wasps are mean looking, I see them everywhere.

They are big and mean looking. Never been stung by one and hope I never am. There's so many Cicadas around right now, I bet they are really busy.

Those wasps will climb up a structure, fly with a heavy cicada, hit the ground, climb again, and fly again until they reach their burrow in the ground. Then the wasp lays an egg on the paralyzed cicada, and the wasp larva feeds on the cicada.

One got me one time and it was very painful. Treat with meat tenderizer and aloe vera to ease the pain. It is fun to watch them take a cicada into its underground nest.
