I fished lake Conroe Saturday and Sunday. This was my first time fishing on Texas Waters, I just moved to Houston from Florida two weeks ago. I was targetting offshore structure on points and drops anywhere from 10-25 feet deep, prodominately in the mouths of creeks and main lake. I used my humminbird 998 to locate brush piles on these structures and probably caught around 30 fish this weekend but nothing bigger than 2-1/2 pounds. I threw a 6xd, c-rig w/ trick worm, t-rig w/ 10" worm, and shaky head w/ finesse worm. Where are all the big females? Am I not throwing big fish baits? Or just not around the big females?

Saturday night tournament took 17lbs to win with 3 fish. The big ones are out there its just a matter of not falling out of your boat due to pleasure boaters and hitting one in the face.

conroebass.com has a tournament calendar on the bottom of their home page that will help out with this.

Theres a tournament nearly every Sunday out of Stow a Way marina on Calvery road. The entry fee is only 50 dollars and it usually draws around 10 teams. A great place to test your knowledge on teh water and get aquainted with some locals

As stated in tylerg's post, it is a team tournament. If you do not have a partner, are there people attending who need a partner?

Don't listen to TylerG he just wants more people to show up so he can get a bigger check. J/K the sunday morning tournament is fun and its over before all the crazies over run the lake. But seriously watch out Tyler G has won lots of tournaments on that lake. He is dangeroous with a crankbait.

You can fish by yourself on the normal Sunday Morning tournament. One rule they have that I like is that you can not weigh a dead fish so it makes you take care of them especially this time of the year. They are right Tyler and his Dad know the lakevery well.
