I will be going to surf side beach july 12-15. I am a freshwater fisherman need any tips and techniques y'all dont mind sharing.

Free line some mullet in the surf. Or throw some queen cocahoes with 1/8 ounce or 1/4 ounces jig heads.

Summer is here and IMO, the best fishing from dusk till dawn.
Free lined mullet and live crab is good for bull reds in the 3rd gut and beyond that.
Specks and Reds are best on live shrimp under a popping cork rig.
You have to search around for activity:
- Flock of birds nose diving into the water.
- School of baitfish suddenly jumping out of the water.

What colors work best on the queens? Also mind you i am a rookie in saltwater fishing. I keep hearing 3rd gut. what or where is this referring to?

The "guts" are the deep trenches in between the sandbars on the surf. There's 3 of them and you can see on GoogleEarth where they are. As far as soft plastic colors, I use Strawberry and Plum.

The guts are the deep spots between sand bars as you leave the beach. I use the "croaker", "black\chart" or "morningglory" cocahoes.

Correct. The guts are wade fished in the surf. If your jetty fishing a popping cork and live shrimp should suffice.

So these are not by jettys? Y'all are referring to wad fishing? Sorry so many questions and once again thanks. Actually, they are by the jetties too, on the surf side. When fishing jetties, you can opt to fish the surfside or the channel side.
