My old fishing buddy used to have a boony hat that was made to be soaked in water to stay cool. He swore by it. I could never find one until I saw this site. So....invested $50 to see. Any help on summer heat helps. Time will tell if it's worth the money or not. I already use the water cooled bandana, it helps a little, but if I can keep my head cooler it would be great. http://www.waterboony.com/

They have a towel that you wet, wring it out and shke in the wind at Home Depot. It really cools you down pretty quick, if you don't get the cap.

you can take any hat, wet it and put it on your head. as its evaporating the water out of the hat, it removes heat from your head. its evaporative cooling. water just sitting on your head will not cool you as good as water evaporating off your head. Just dip your hat in the lake or icewater until its soaked, and put it on your head., repeat as needed.
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

DO NOT put a hat that has been dipped in ice water directly onto your head or neck if u are allready heated! My foreman several years ago fell out from heT-stroke and we did the same thing. The 911 op yelled thru the phone at me and said this could and will stoke/shock the victim even worse. Start with the ankles and wrists and work ur way up towards ur neck and head. Same goes for a dog also.

http://www.uline.com/BL_8984/Cooling-Ves...mp;gclsrc=aw.dsAs an HVAC tech working in attics reaching 115+ degree's this kept us pretty cool. I owned a hat similiar to the one your looking at and between the vest and hat it was like heaven working in those attics.
Sometimes I wonder if that kid in the Dreamworks logo has caught a fish yet.

I have been using the same 4 bandanas for about 7 years now that I got at WalMart. Similar to these, the kind that have the crystals in em: http://industrialsavings.com/hard-hats/940.html http://polarbreezebandanas.com/They work great wearing em around your neck. I used to use em when I bass fished in the heat. Kept 2 in the ice chest. 1 would keep me cooled for about 1 1/2 hours or so. Just switch em out.

Be sure and get the high vis yellow or orange. I went right by you Tues and didn't even see you. Plus you need to model it for us so that Bobby can see if you qualify for the ugly hat club.

I have always used the "Chill Ties". You can get em at Acadamey. They seem to work pretty good. I have used em for the last three years.
