I've read all sorts of things about crazy folks on the water, but what about crazies (or dangerous) while bank fishing? Or is that a completely Paranoid question?

I'm thinking about taking my two older grandsons bank fishing at The Cut.

Any precautions I should take?

I guess it WAS a dumb question.

From the bank you should be OK. The only issue is pleasure boats wanting to anchor down in the way of casting. I also suggest taking them out there during the week when there is way less boat traffic.
Have them wear PFD's of course just in case they fall in the water. Can never be too safe. Also check out the crappie barge. May be a viable option with little ones.

I bank fish LL all the time and have fished the old dam a lot. I've never had any problems. Sometimes people want to fish too close or let their dogs swim in the water right next to you, but no real issues.

If it helps, I have seen the game warden and the police visit out there before, so I think they keep they're eye on it.

No issues, all the crazies are out on the main lake, so bankin' it you're perfectly fine
