Buddy let me borrow his yak and I set out some lines. First time trying the video thing so there are some dull moments I should of edited out. But here are a couple of fish I pulled in. The first one he got wrapped around a stump and I had to hop out to free it.

I cant get the video to embed here for some reason

i wouldn't announce that on the forum. some folks here get real touchy when it comes to jugging. they would spit on you if they though you jug for cats.

I've seen some disrespect for jug fishing as well. Mainly by a small number of guys that work hard to catch trophy cats, and always release them. Pretty sensitive to seeing big fish caught (much less harvested) by anything less than a Garcia 6000 on a 7.5' Pro Angler rod with a Gama circle hook rigged on a 3-way. argue Don't think anyone cares how you catch eaters!

I'd worry very little about that. I would caution you on having all those dang hooks in the yak around my legs when there's a fish on in the water! I jug fish with my kids once in a while and make them feed the line back in the water as they pull it up. just a suggestion, of course... thumb

I use jug lines. Mostly at night. I like to find a cove with the wind blowing in and throw out six or so and let them drift into the cove. I'll hand fish and just drift along with them. Of course they will spread out so I put reflective tape on the jugs to help keep up with them. I also trot line in my kayak.
