Me and my brother batted around a few fishing options for Saturday but we decided to stay close to home and it paid off. Tried the main lake hump with every other boat on the lake first thing and boated a few drum and no reel concentrations of fish. Headed toward the dam and ran into an acre of schooling fish, they stayed up for at least an hour. We kept a two man limit for fathers day fry and decided to go chunk some lures for those green trash fish after a dozen or so blacks the sandies decided to start a feeding frenzie in the cove we were in so we went back to hauling em in. I only get a few days a year fishing with my bro so we made this one count. Coffin pic to follow.

do you mind saying what time of day those fish were schooling?

Can someone explain how the Feds count recreational Red Snapper catch?

Fish were schooling most heavily around 9:30 to 10 am but there was some schooling until we called it a day around 1pm. There was a nice cloud cover sat that may have helped keep them up, and they gourging on tiny shad that they spitting up as we would bring them into the boat.

thanks cooltex. I have seen the same with the tiny shad, makes it very difficult to match the hatch when they are not surfacing.

appreciate it
