OK, I finally upgraded my electronics to the Lowrance Elite-5 DSI and will be installing this weekend. I did not purchase a lake mapping software chip yet but need to do so this weekend also, but I'd like some recommendations on the best to purchase for freshwater bodies primarily in Texas and the south, but especially for Texas. I'm heading to Caddo Lake next weekend and would prefer software that includes Caddo since the deepest part of the cover-laden lake is 20 feet. Any suggestions and reasons for your suggestions is very much welcomed. Thanks in advance.

Navionics Premium South will run you about $150 and will do everything you need it to do.

AGREE, Premium South Navionics chip somes with the Micro Chip that you need for that unit.
