How do I get side plate off? How do these brakes work? Anyone know?

Unscrew the large silver screw on top of the reel on the right side plate, pull the screw and with your left hand twist the left side plate clockwise. On the Brake three are always on the other three that say pitch,with your fingernail pop it out toward the edge one at a time testing the cast after each adjustment.
