Wow! Tough thread. No company will ever be perfect and at some point a customer or a few will get upset. I know for a fact that Costa is dedicated to quality from their customer service all the way down to their product. Until we started Amphibia I wore Costa's, Oakleys and Maui Jim's. I guess you could label me a sunglassaholic. Warranty is a tough call because nothing is expected to last forever and no one from Costa has a magic ball to see how they were treated or how they ultimately broke. Sometimes you have to "go up the ladder" to get your story told. I'm sure they will make it right. That's what companies that are in this for the long haul do. Costa has always supported fishermen and IMO will continue. I really like the way they had an immediate response on the forum and wanted to make things right. I appreciate a company that listens.

Agree on the call on Native glasses. Boughy my first pair about 6 months ago after years with Costa. They fit great, real comfortable and are designed to be sturdy.

When a rep willingly jumps in a shark tank like this thread with all the bashing going on, it certainly means that customer service and satisfaction is a priority at Costa.

Sorry but Costa doesn't need to "save face". Costa owns the market when it comes to the water market. Thats a fact.

Every company has "disgruntled" customers that don't like it when things don't fall into place like they believe it should. I'd be willing to bet that that rep heard about this thread and she reached out. Kudo's to Costa

From this thread, it appears that their grasp on the marine market may just be slipping a little. There is nothing to be disgruntled about, their CS is inconsistent at best and we have discovered that through this thread.

Costa isn't going anywhere because of another "squeaky wheel" thread on the TFF.

They make a great product and I'm sure they regret they couldn't satisfy you enough to keep you as a customer but that's business. Can't please everyone.

Good luck.

Why can't you stand them? You don't like to know before you drop a chunk of change on a product how their customer service is? Or is it bbecause you love your glasses and don't want anyone bad mouthing them? I never said that Costas are junk, I love mine that's why I have continued buying them. The issue here is strictly CS related. Due to CS issues, I won't be buying them again. If you don't like different opinions, or opinionated people for that matter, the TFF is probably not a good forum for you. Lol

A little bit of irony in you referencing the opinion issue and then having a problem with my opinion of this thread.

Anyway, since you asked, I'm obliged to answer.

1. I don't look to a forum thread to decide what brand or business to purchase from and I let my own dealings with a company decide whether or not I continue to do business with them.

2. No I'm not a Costa customer. However I do know people who work for and with them and know them to be people of integrity who have a passion for their brand. So I'm pretty confident that bad customer service experiences are few and far between.

I don't really agree that it's a customer service issue. I think it's more that they made an evaluation and decision and it wasn't the outcome that you wanted so you took it to the board. It's these kinds of "town crier" threads that I was indicating displeasure for.

A guy is a customer of XYZ company and he has an issue and takes it up with the company and they don't respond in his favor, so he takes it to a forum or social media to attempt to affect their business. To be clear I'm not talking about someone who was swindled by a business in some way. I'm just talking about someone who didn't get their way in a negotiation/decision.

In my opinion, there's a better way to handle it. As stated above rod companies and sunglass companies in particular have a difficult time with warranty and material defect issues because they don't have a magic ball and they just have to do the best they can on a case by case basis. Sounds to me like their decision wasn't in your favor and so you decided to try to burn them down. All under the guise of "buyer beware".

How about a PM to Brady or someone on here in advance to see if they could help? Perhaps you tried that, I don't know. All I know is now you're posting pics of Maui Jims.

Regardless, this is a common go to move for people on the forum and I'm not a fan.
