Had some extra time on my hands so I hit a local creek to see if anything was biting. With all of the latest rain the fresh water really has the fish turned on. The bite was good. Fished for about three hours and caught 14 Greens in the 7 to 8 inch range, several Bass in the 12 to 14 inch range and a few Bluegill rounded out the catch. The water was stained in some spots due to recent rains with good current. The creek was in very good condition. All fish were caught on worms with UL tackle. Both float and bottom techniques were used. Fish were fat and full of fight. All fish were released to fight again. Creek fishing at it's best. It don't get any better. fish

Nice job,Think I'll have to buy some worms on the way home.Brings up a question, do you like night Crawler, red wiggler,or those radioactive glow worms?

Thanks "Catfish-hunter" and Robert for the replies cheers . "Catfish-Hunter": I love the night crawlers. They seem to stay on the hook better and are thicker than the red wigglers. You can also catch several fish on one piece of worm. I also love using the size six cricket hooks from Mustad. You can put a lot of worm on those hooks. hooked

I got out today too. You know the spot(s). It is so much different than before the last really hard rain a week or two ago. I suggest you get out there soon before the green stuff starts to grow again. I got 4 bass in the 12-16" range, 2 decent cichlids(didn't measure), and a few redbreast. I'm sure you'd catch more since I did that all on a top water cricket fly.

Nice report. Greens, though not my favorite are a good looking fish when lit up. Those are pretty good sized ones for a creek.

Brings back good memories.Used to be my number one catfish bait for limb lines.Always cherished but blue gills out numbered them so only the best spots got them.Last on the hook longer and muddy water didn't bother them.Might last a week on a line if you rehooked them.Good stuff. Thanks Dfitz. for saying " not my favorite",sparked my memory again.Oh heck, talking catfish in a bream forum.Oops.
