Lake Texoma is a beautiful gift, a blessing co-created between humans and nature. I am so grateful and amazed by the abundance the Lake provides on all levels, sustaining such a thriving fishery as well as a tourist economy, balanced and supporting the needs for ALL including myself and my family. The fishing is abundant and easy, everyone is catching limits of fish in a couple of hours. It makes no difference which guide you choose if all you are looking to do is to catch fish, this is the time of abundance and all guides are created equal. But the trip is not only about catching fish it is about having fun so you will want to choose a guide who you resonate with and enjoy their company. It works both ways; I want to attract customers who enjoy my interests as well. When both parties mesh and that deeper connection is made, it becomes a much more enjoyable experience for all involved. I make every effort to connect with everyone on all levels but I mesh best with those who enjoy a good open philosophical conversation. Any topic will do but I like to go deep to a place where new understandings arise and transformation occurs. Like the colors of the rainbow, you can choose any topic or color and if you follow it deep enough you will always end up at the same source where they all mesh together, its that place of stillness where words seem to lose their meaning. Right now the fishing is easy but any moment it could shift to become more of a challenge which is also fun, I enjoy both aspects.

As the Texas days get progressively warmer the cool of the morning is a welcome reprieve for most. Add in a beautiful view of the sunrise and some awesome fishing and you've got a winning combination.
Our morning trips are leaving out at 630 which leaves plenty of time to catch a box full of fish then catch and release until your arms hurt and still make it in with plenty of time to spare before the Texas sun catches up with you.

The fishing has been fantastic for us the past few weeks. We've been leaving out around day light catching limits consistently and catching and throwing them back until our customers say enough�s enough. Our trips are a minimum four hours so once the limit is caught the rest of the time can be spent catching and releasing or looking for the big one that we all know is hiding in those murky depths.
We have been fishing live bait in deep water, between 60 and 80 foot of water with the bait suspended in the 40-50 foot range.

To find the fish we've been heading to their normal hang out spots for the summer and beating the water with old fishing rod, pushing it through the surface to produce "thoop" sound to call them in. This thoop makes a deep resonant sound carrying far and mimics the sound of a school feeding and is often too tempting to resist.

The majority of the fish we've been catching are in the 1-3 pound range which is what we call "good box fish" which means they are often the tastiest ones to go in the cooler to take home. We are also getting some 6-8 pound fish thrown in for good measure.

Were using live threadfin shad to catch the stripers I've been telling you about. They're spawning now and can be caught at day break and the egrets are usually the first to tip you off of their location.



The fishing is fantastic right now on Lake Texoma. The temperature is ideal in the mornings and still not too bad in the afternoons. As most any Lake Texoma local will tell you the best time to fish is on the week days when the boat traffic is minimal. We're happily running two trips a day on week days and single morning trips on weekends, so if you need a weekend book early! We still have some week day slots open for this next week if any if you are ready to wet a line.

Schools out for the summer and there's no better time to fill the freezer for summer fish fry�s. There's no time like the present and it�s time to head to the lake! All you'll need is a cooler with drinks and snacks and a Lake Texoma fishing license. We provide the rest.
