Heading for SPI in one week. Does anyone know which pier is good for night fishing with a 6 year old kid? And how does it produce in the morning or during the day? I saw somewhere someone said there is no good fishing pier in SPI, but I prefer pier because it is safer for small kids.

Thanks,
Pol

They are all about the same. If I were you I would go to the one in port isabel. It may have more people but the fishing is a little better in the lights there.

Thanks for the answers. I think I will try the pirates pier for night fishing. Is it worth spending the early morning or even a whole day at the pier? Or you prefer surf or jetty?

I would go early or at night. The sun is pretty bad when your standing on a deck all day. Get you a surf rod and a spider weight toss out some cut mullet or ballyhoo and toss it to the 2 gut in the surf.

Well right now with it being hot out I think the fishing is better at night and early morning however during the day I'll just surf fishing while on the beach just to have a rod in the water
