Costa makes the best sunglasses on the market hands down. Don't buy from the midget man line and you won t have problems.

the only sunglasses i have ever had a problem with is oakleys delaminating....... i have three friends that have either sat on their glasses after a long day of drinking or forgot they had them on their hat and threw them across the floor, when they contacted costa they were taken care of, 2 of them said it was $25 to fix them and send them back, the one who sat on them got replaced for free since the frame broke.....i guess to each their own.....i have a 25% off code for amphibias, think ill buy a pair and try them out.....tacklewarehouse also has some on sale

What is this midget man line that you speak of?

You guys should look at native sunglasses. They have excellent customer service.

Kinda had the same experience with Costa customer service. They won't work with you at all. Maui or Amphibia will be my next pair.

I broke a pair of Costa's that were about 10 years old, they were sitting on the center console and my wife set something on top of them and broke an arm. Sent them in and all I had to pay was shipping...couldn't believe it, I even told them how it was broken and expected to pay. About a year later, I broke a pair that was less than a year old by simply taking them off...the hinge broke. Sent them in expecting the same especially since they were less than a year old and I had to pay for it, don't remember the exact cost but I think it was around $50 or so.

If you broke the frame or ear piece and it is unrepairable they can put your lenses in a new frame for $69.99 and up according to the rep I was dealing with. Highway robbery

My Costas were bought new in 07. I don't throw them around attached to my hat. I don't set things on them. I just put them on and wear them. I put them in the case when I take them off. They look like new and function great. No problems. They stay in the boat glove box. I wear a $30 pair of polarized for every day stuff.

Have both Maui Jim (for driving) and Amphibias (for fishing). Nose piece on Maui Jims came off after about two years of normal wear and for a nominal shipping fee, they replaced the glasses for free. No questions asked other than the online repair form I had to complete. Just got the Amphibias but already I can tell they are 100% better than the Oakley's I was previously wearing. I would highly recommend both.

I've never had an issue with Costa or Oakley's CS. I can't even count how many replacement Oakley's I have had since they came out, maybe 15. I have never had an issue with my Costas.

I called them after they gave my wife the run around and was a little irate to say the least. The tech explained to me that if the tiny hinge had broken due to material failure it could only be a clean smooth break. Our break was somewhat jagged so there was no possible way it was a defect, we broke them ourselves. Needless to say, I went ballistic, and the best they would do is put her lenses in new frames for another service charge on top of the one you pay when you send them in. I'll never buy Costas again!!!!

Hi,
I work with Costa Sunglasses and came across your post. I'm not sure if you were able to speak to a manager, but if you email me at laurie@costadelmar.com, I can ask for a 2nd assessment.

And if anyone has questions for me in regards to the warranty or repair pricing, please email me as well. Costa's warranty covers manufacture defects for the lifetime of the product (Rx and Special editions like Kenny are covered for 1 year)but not accidents or wear and tear.

I saw one question was in regards to lenses being replaced in pairs ... We have to replace both lenses, even if only one is broken, due to the fact that all lenses are created as a set. If you mix pairs (left and right from different sets), there's a chance that the polarization (% of light transmitted) could be slightly different, and this would be bothersome to the eyes.

Please contact me if you need help.

I have Wiley X's, have worn them for 10+ years due to Army service...I don't keep them in the case, I keep them in the door in my truck, I wear them hard ... have NEVER had an issue with them, AND, when a friend and I compaired his new Costas from the Skeeter tourny side by side the day he bought them, my Wileys were almost sitll as clear....
