I guess its just the time of year that I typically get to fish, but I usually do best on my yellas in late summer end of july and august because that is when I have throughout my life had the most amount of time to fish for them.
I do my best on depth change, humps and holes and creek channels.

Caught one yesterday at Lewisville. Fish was 25" and was caught on a green sunfish. Filleted him up cause I hadn't ever tried flathead before. Tasted pretty darn good!

River and lake, theyre still biting. I fish in the river, a senior that graduated is catching them like there's no tomorrow in the lake. They're fixing to spawn so right now is you want to be fishing, and you're gonna want to keep fishing until they're done.
An onion can make people cry but theres never been a vegetable that can make people laugh.
If you get thrown from a horse, you have to get up and get back on, unless you landed on a cactus; then you have to roll around and scream in pain.
Sorry don't get it done dude

Hello, this is my first time posting although I have been checking in for a few months now. I have a question regarding this thread. Do most flathead fisherman stop completely during the summer and why. i know some times are better than most but really the only time I stop completely(mostly ) is when waterfowl hunting starts. And even then I have seen videos on youtube on winter Opelousas fishing strategy. Thanks guys nice to "meet" all of you.

YellowCats can be caught year round, regardless of spawning or not, seasons or rivers/lakes. But when they are most active & on their roam/feed pattern, see my Catfish Calendar (for Yellows & Blues). Of course there are other patterns to observe as rivers & lakes are different. The Yellows will/must adjust/adapt to whichever it is in. < http://texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/8477517/1>

They can be caught after spawning but it's hard. In fact id get out there ASAP y'all. My buddy in palo pinto caught a 38 lb and 25 lb yella cat today. If y'all need anything pm me.
