Ok so I used the throw my c-rigs on 50lb braid main line and then 15-20lb big game or floro leader. I did this because my c-rig rods doubled as my frog rods. But I have found out that braid on c-rig is no good for rock and that the braid gets frayed around weights easy. So here is question what line do y'all use? I'm fishing them on 7'6" or 7'3"H rods does I would like to use mono cause of price but never really used it on c-rig. Also do y'all use tungsten or lead? I have been using tungsten but loose so many weights I'm thinking about lead what is big difference in sensitivity? My rods are all high end and very sensitive so I figured the weights might not matter so much. Thanks TFF

20# Seguar InvizX. 20lb leader (InvizX) and a 3/4 or 1 oz. Picasso tungsten weight (polished bore) and a plastic bead between the weight and the knot.

20# Seguar, 15# leader about 4 to 5 ft. long, 1oz. or 3/4 oz tungsten weight. That's it. I don't use beads.

Yeah but you can sure feel bottom a lot better with tungsten. Makes more noise than lead, too.

I am on a budget as well. I use 20# flouro, 15 lb big game leader, and a 1 oz lead weight with a bead. I am sure the tungsten is better, but with a 1 oz weight you can feel the bottom pretty good.

I guess whether tungsten is worth it or not depends on what you're fishing.
If you're fishing rocks, shell, wood, etc., tungsten is nice. But if you're fishing grass I think tungsten is way overkill.

I haven't had a problem with 65lb braid main line 1/2 oz tungsten and 15lb big game leader. Only time I had a problem is when I used flouro and didn't set my drag. My c-rod also doubles as my frog rod.

1/2oz to 1oz lead depending on depth. Two glass beads and swivel to a 2-3' leader. Ill tell you a trick I was taught. Put a bobber stop at your knot and the beads or weight won't cut your knot.

In grass, figure out how high the grass is and make your leader at least that long plus a half a foot or so.

Old mono user here because I am to cheap to buy anything else. I use 20lb big game and 12 lb or 15 lb for leader. I use lead weight and a metal clacker with glass bead. Caught prolly 20 fish Saturday and 8 on Sunday before the rain at the Skeeter owners tournament. The ole woman and I even doubled up once . Unless I am fishing a lot of brush I use a 12 lb leader. I believe it helps get more bites. And have caught a 10 lber using it
