trying to splash a fisherman with your wakeboard probably won't sound near as funny when you are on your way to the ER to have the treble hook of a 1 oz slab removed from your body...

Chris, it's a good discussion and one that a person needs to think through before they get into the heat of the moment.

If you ever get confronted within talking distance, keep your phone/camera pointed at them. Ask them to state their name and address, read out loud their TX number, speak out a description of them (blue seadoo GTX, white male, appears 25, red hair, barbed wire tattoo on left arm, etc, etc) - tell them to speak clearly as your video is being streamed real time for use as needed. Be confident and keep your cool, don't get into back and forth. That is usually enough to make anyone think twice about doing anything but leaving. And they'll prob have a sleepless night.

As far as shotguns and rock salt are concerned, I am a strong beleiver in not pulling a gun on someone unless you are prepared to take their life. In todays world it could easily come to that in such a situation. Be sure to think before you act!

I know you are joking or tongue in cheek but as tempting as doing something like that is, it not only puts you on their level but opens you up for an assault charge. But trust me, I can appreciate the brief satisfaction that it might bring and it has certainly crossed my mind before. That is why it is good to think through what you are willing to do/not do before it happens.

MY friend and I did stock up on slabs at Dave's ski and tackle a couple of weeks ago. Hmmmmm.

You could keep an eye out on youtube the next few days. If they dropped a guy off to video it chances are they are gonna post it to show off. It's funny how many people are stupid enough to film themselves committing a crime and sharing it with the world.

I'm not going to lie even in a PB I've casted behind a wakeboard boat/jet ski if they're continously driving right next to me. I wasn't trying to snag them or anything I would wait till they were past and cast behind them as a way of showing/saying hey you're close enough that I can get you if I wanted to. Sometimes it works and they move away and sometimes they're just so oblivious to the situation they didn't realize I casted.

Funny one should mention throwing slabs or something similar at boaters getting too close... when I lived in New Jersey the surf fishermen would carry spark plugs or 2 ounce bank sinkers in their plug bags just for this purpose. If boaters get too close to the beach or rock jetty then they run the risk of getting their boats bashed. They usually get the hint when a few 2 ounce sinkers splash near their boat. I would never resort to tried and true techniques though. wink wink nudge nudge.

If anyone here finds it make sure to post it so we can pass it on to the warden so they can be charged under the wake management laws.

The problem I have found is PB don't consider me a real fisherman or something. When I'm fishing a point they will come right up on me and fish it like I'm not there.
