I know the lss2 is the newer version and i have the lss1 on my boat now. what are the advantages of the lss2 module over lss1. Is it better imaging? is it just different settings or is it a better picture? Thanks

Crisper images in both frequencies and wider range with 455khz. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to offer more detail.
The LSS2 transducer is also much larger than the LSS1

lss2 has greater memory response due to more robust NVRAM

The lss2 is not crisper in downscan, it is actually not as detailed as the lss1 downscan. In side scan it will give a bit more distance and maybe just a tad more detailed over the 1side scan. The lss1 works better in 800 and the lss2 prefers 455. I have one of each and I'd take the lss1 over the 2 any day. If you do decide to get rid of the 1 ducer they are pretty hot items when selling. Most guys seem to like them more and they are easier to mount.
If you really want to learn more about it go over to bass boat central, Lowrance section and you will get all the info you could ever want.

lss2 has greater memory response due to more robust NVRAM This is actually the opposite of true. NVRAM makes response time slower as related to more traditional forms of RAM. It may be that the LSS2 has much more RAM than the LSS1 and because of that it is faster but it isn't faster specifically because it utilizes NVRAM.
I have a Largemouth at home....sometimes she lets me go fishing.

Especially over at BBC, they are hot selling items. If you aren't getting good returns then there is something wrong with your setup or ducer. This is my lss1 at Canyon in Toms creek. This is by the dam at Canyon.

Mine used to look like that, but now if your trolling around it looks all clumpy... If you troll with the big motor it looks better... Just cant figure out what the problem is.... My first HD gave a real good scan, then got full of water. Sent it in and the new one just doesn't show a real clear pic! Getting kinda PO'd!

You and I have exchanged several PM's the last year or so, but man, I still dont know how you are getting that good of images. I dont get nearly the quality of shots as you do. The next time you head out to Canyon, give me a call.

I wish I had time to even go to the lake. Man, work is crazy busy this year, if Canyon was a bit closer to me I'd fish those Thursday night tourneys. I'll admit it now though, I'd be the money donor, that place is never good to me . I'm not sure why my lss1 is better than my lss2, guess I just got lucky? Here's something in Boerne Lake, anybody have a clue what it might be? It's zoomed in 3x so it's not real clear.
