I went to LL yesterday just to get on the water. I knew the fish probably wouldn't be biting but who cares. So I anchored up near a bridge and a boat who had been watching me or just curious about a guy sitting on a kayak decided to get within 100 ft of me and floor his boat. Then he did a few circles turning up the water and then he floored it again. They had left a buddy of theirs on the rocks under the bridge and he was sitting there filming the whole thing. I could be wrong but I think they had bad intentions. Why do people do that...I might not be in a big powerful boat with 100 rods and fancy electronics but I am on the water in a boat just doing some fishing and enjoying the water. What are your thoughts?

.....get the TX #s and turn that dude in to TPWD.
No call for that. Could have ended badly.

.....and don't think real boaters would be any less upset about seeing that than your yaking brothers. A jerk is a jerk.

They passed a law about this a couple years ago. Get it on video and call the game warden.

And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

I'll have to store the phone number for the game warden, TPWD and who ever else I can find just in case. I know that if I am in a wake zone I run the risk of getting caught in a big wake but I also know to stay clear of the areas with a lot of boats. FYI I was near the RR bridge on LL at Malard Park.

I had a guy on LL about a week ago at another location start dropping jugs all around me and all the way down the stretch of bank the last time I was out. I had no choice but to leave because I couldn't stay out of his jugs. He just kept circling me and watching me. I guess he was claiming his territory. I just bought my yak three weeks ago and I have yet had a good day on the water. Boaters seem to think they "own" the lake.

BigRed told me that if a boat circles around you in a tight radius it's a felony. If he was just nearby I'd bet he would just get a slap on the wrist. I despise people like that.

this.

If nothing else, at least give them a visual you are filming them and/or calling on them. One hand on your camera pointed at them and one hand on your phone as if you are calling is often enough to make these children move on. But definitely record and/or get pics/video if you want to file a claim.

I had something like this happen to me a few nights ago on Hubbard. I went in the evening and launched from paddle point. I was fishing the rocks near the road, and some douche in his powerboat was towing another douche on a wake board. They were running up and down the rocks right where I was fishing. The boat was less than 20 feet from me, and the wake boarder was trying to splash me with his board as he passed by! The thought crossed my mind to "accidentally" cast at the wake boarder.

But I instead tried to lure them into the submerged timber..

Take pictures or a video and file charges. Harassing a fisherman is a serious crime.

Most people are courteous, but I had a couple of jet skis headed straight for me and laughing. I thought I was in trouble so I reached for my camera and they turned 180.

I didn't mean to start the day off on a bad note but it really bothered me last night. I don't think they realize that guys on kayaks are anchored up and if we come off our boat and close to a strong current it can be very hazardous. I'm also a little scared of them starting something on the water....a little water rage. That's even more scary since you really can't outrun them.

It is also very dangerous next to a bridge.

You had cause to be worried.

I wonder what lakes would allow me to carry a shotgun with rock-salt loads with me in my horizontal rod holders... hmmmm
