I have power pro line 50 or 30lb test on my reels. I don't fish a lot. Rods stay inside all the time while being stored. They get used in saltwater for one week and freshwater probably 6 to 8 times a year. How long do you think the line will hold its strength

if you clean the line and or wash it - years unless you cut it on shells, PP cuts easily on the shells, I went to Sufix 832 and is much better for me, I do fish heavier line though.

It last a pretty good amount of time. I use 20lb on my rods and I fill them 3 times a year. But they get fished about 3 times a week.

Power Pro is awesome stuff! I use it for both fresh and salt water. The amount of color fade that occurs with time and use IS NOT an indicator of line weakness. Depending on how you use the line and if you are snagging the line frequently and such requires you to physically inspect the line. IF you don't see any fraying or other signs of damage, the line will continue to service you. Typically, I replace braid every year, but my gear is fished 4-6 times a week 8 months of the year.

It'll bleach out before it loses strength. It's some good fishing line.

I have landed multiple 6ft+ bull sharks on 5 year old power pro 80lb...I wash my equipment with fresh water, and store my rods indoors...

Another big factor is how often the braid sees water and what kind of fishing you're doing with it. My shark reels all have a braid backing to increase the reels line capacity. The braid doesn't see water all that often so it lasts a long time.

Very long, especially if used as backing and it never sees the UV rays from the sunlight. Agrees with everybody.
