Me Catfishguy85 and Kevin_m decided to try our luck at some moving water this passed weekend. We had 3 spots marked on the map that looked enticing. The original plan was to get bait saturday morning and head out that afternoon and scout spots until we found one that was accessable and looked promising... Well of course plan changed when kevin called me friday afternoon and said he was going to head straight from work to the banks.  Not really what I wanted to hear after working 64 hours during the week, but the hell with it. After a good hike through the woods he approves of the 1st spot and I meet him out there just before midnight. At this time he has already had some runs and caught a nice blue. Things just get better for the next few hours, catching several flatheads mainly in the 10-22 lb range with a bunch of blues in the mix. Then I get a big surprise on the end of my line. It was a drag burner and I was expecting to see a 40+ yellow cat, but when i got him surfaced it was a big gator gar, Kevin quickly made a lasso with the cast net line and got him in after a few tries (probably 20). It went 68" long and was my 1st actual gator gar.  The bite shut off when the sun came up and that gave us time to go find some more bait for Saturday night. Wayne met us out there Saturday and we caught a few more including a 22# flathead for Wayne and a 32# for me. And Wayne caught a Big softshell or 2 as usual...Live action. I think he's kin to the turtle man  bad pics are better than no pics
