I like the idea of pouring the guards in the lure but the guard messes up when I heat the jig. Do the brush guard protectors work well. Glueing them in seems like a better deal to me what epoxy is best? How do you guys prefer to install your brush guards?

Gel super glue works well for installing the weed guards instead of epoxy. That is what we use.

This is the brand we use.

I have used jell superglue , JB weld and devcon 2 ton epoxy . Pretty good success with all of them . I use tefflon plugs in the mold to keep the holes open . If you don't have those you can use wooden dowel pins .

I pour and powder paint my jigs using the Teflon base hole pins. The powder paint won’t stick to the Teflon pins and they are reusable. All you need is some 30 minute epoxy to secure the weed guard into the jig.

Quickest and easiest for me is super glue gel.

5 minute epoxy will yellow with time, make sure to use 30 minute regardless of which brand. I use Devcon 2 ton.
