I have the Ethernet connection linking the 998 to the 898.
I was wondering if I would be able to hook the 1198 up and share off the same SI transducer??

Yes, with Ethernet you can choose what transducer to use with any of the three.
The Ethernet switch lets you connect multiple displays and accessories to share. No limit as to the number. Add as many switches as you want. You get 5 connections per switch.

Doug
I have an 898 and I'm replacing it with a 998. Do I have to swap GPS Receivers or are they the same?

Thanks

Depends on which receiver. Either will work with the older GR50 or the new AS-GPR receiver that comes with the new 2013 models. Your choice if you want to change if out to the latest hardware or use the existing GR50. Either will work.

I have finally encountered my first problem with my hummingbird 898. Went fishing this Monday mornin and NO mapping would come up at all. I am still a novice with this unit so it very well could be something I'm missing. I didn't anything different than I normally do. I looked at the GPS puck and wiring, it looked ok, I pulled the plug out made sure it was clean and re inserted it. Still nothing. When I clicked the view button to get to a map screen it said "No image found". I noticed there was what looked like an accessory diagnostic screen which I've never seen before and it said everything was disconnected???!

Doug, I installed the Terrova IPilot and interlink and have linked everything (HB 958c DI - 998c SI) through a 5 port ethernet hub. Now I am seeing interference on my SI screen. I mounted the DI transducer on the Terrova. Could the interference be coming from cord being wound through the TM cord? If so, what can be done to lesson the interference?

Check GPS Receiver Connection and cross test with another receiver if that doesn't help then it could be the receiver.

I would call HB Customer Service they are the best to work with RF Noise. Sometimes a Ferrite Choke will help kill RF Noise.

I have a 958c GPS in the bow with a integral trolling motor transducer in my Motorguide. Anytime I am using the trolling motor I get vertical lines on the graph. I can still make out the sonar image but the lines are annoying. Is this a transducer or 958c issue? Any suggestions for a quick fix?

Thanks!

Your trolling motor needs to be fixed so the RFI doesn't bother the unit. Contact Humminbird Customer Service for assistance, it may or may not take several remedies.

Post a screen capture of those lines and a picture of your transducer installation.
I will guess that you have your SI transducer on a jackplate and are getting echos from it, but need a picture to confirm it.
