I need some information about the Diablo Kayak (chupacabra). What I have read is pretty good but I have never seen this Kayak mentioned on this forum. Is this a good kayak or should I consider a less expensive unit or what? I am an older person that has trouble getting on and off kayaks but this seems to be a kayak that is person friendly. Can anyone give feedback on this unit, I would greatly appreciate your in put.

I love that little kayak. Perfect for rivers and very stable. You will find a lot of space on it as well. There are some dealers that will let you try it before you buy it so definitely look into that. Then you will know for sure if its for you!

I had the 12' Adios and loved it. I have been in the Chupicabra a few times and the two are fairly similar designs. It's primary feature is going to be stability. Don't get into a race with anyone because you'll lose but if stability is important it was built for jus that. Reentering is easy since the sides are low and the deck is very flat. The Larry Chair is a nice add on as long as you're not in high winds. I would also suggest adding a skeg to help a little with tracking. It's lightweight is also nice. The ABS plastic is durable in my experience. If you're close to N. Richland Hills then stop by Anglers Pro Tackle. They'll have a few on display and can answer any questions you have and probably set up a demo if you'd like. Also, welcome to the forum!

Thank you for your quick responses. I did try the internet for information, but it was not what I wanted but this is enough information that I will be going for this unit. Hope to catch some of you here in Central Texas if it will rain and get us some water in our area. Bet you can't guess the area that is dry enough to say that.

I have the Chupicabra and really like. I, too, am an older person and the stability is really good. Everything stated above is excellent information. You will really like the kayak.

I think Rick even has a Chupa left over from his rental fleet that you could get a great deal on at Anglers Pro Tackle.
